A big thank you to everyone who joined us - here's what we can do now

Hi John,
A big thank you to everyone who joined our nationwide lobbying days for a Fossil Fuel Treaty on Friday and Saturday! People around the country helped put the global exit plan from fossil fuels on MPs' desks.
Global Justice Now groups and supporters sent personalised letters to their MPs and had meetings with them to discuss the treaty. We've had new signatures on the motion in parliament already, and we even had Naz Shah MP joining Global Justice Bradford to publicly sign up to support the Fossil Fuel Treaty.
We know that the global exit plan from fossil fuels is on more MPs' agendas this week than it was last week – our movement is growing. But we still need more MPs to hear about it.
Can you write to your MP today and tell them to support the Fossil Fuel Treaty?
Yes, I'll write ([link removed])
** Following up from the nationwide lobbying days
------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a great outcome to have meetings with multiple MPs and get several new MPs signed up to support the Fossil Fuel Treaty. The fact that it all happened as a result of local campaigning demonstrates the power of local organising.
If you didn’t have a meeting with your MP on Friday and Saturday, don’t worry! Some people have managed to meet their MPs to talk about the Fossil Fuel Treaty, but others are still in the process of scheduling meetings.
We still need as many MPs and local councillors to hear about the Fossil Fuel Treaty as possible in the coming months. We want a groundswell of support that shows people around the country and politicians at all levels want the government to act for a globally just transition.
We’ve also been meeting MPs in Westminster to tell them about the Fossil Fuel Treaty and have had positive responses to the campaign from MPs across the political spectrum. It will be doubly powerful if they’re hearing from their constituents at the same time.
We’re aware that while the lobbying days were a great start in getting the message out to MPs, the exact timetable won’t have worked for everyone. We also know some people might have liked to take part, but have not felt ready to meet their MP yet. We’ll be working on more ways to support you to engage with your MP about the Fossil Fuel Treaty, so keep an eye out!
When she was signing up to support the Fossil Fuel Treaty, Naz Shah said:
“This is super important for us, not just here in Bradford but the whole of the world...we need an international treaty, we need to make sure we’re divesting from fossil fuels, for the sake of future generations.”
I’m sure you’ll agree with her, I know I do. That’s why I’m asking you to write to your MP now so that we can get as many of Naz’s colleagues as possible joining her to support the Fossil Fuel Treaty.
Yes, I'll write ([link removed])
Thank you,

** It’s time to stop big corporations ruling our world
------------------------------------------------------------
While much of the world suffers from a cost of living crisis, the five biggest corporations are earning more than a quarter of the world's population. We exist as part of a global movement to challenge corporate power and promote sustainable alternatives.
