Friends With Paws to welcome therapy dogs at New Martinsville School and Parkersburg High School tomorrow

NEW MARTINSVILLE SCHOOL
WHO: First Lady Cathy Justice, Wetzel County Schools Superintendent Cassie Porter, New Martinsville School Principal Stacey Walton, Wetzel County Schools Board Members, Mayor of New Martinsville Sandy Hunt.
WHAT: Introduction of Molly, a female Labrador Retriever, who is the 27th therapy dog to be placed as part of First Lady Cathy Justice's Friends With Paws initiative.
The Friends With Paws program is a partnership between the Governor’s Office, West Virginia Communities In Schools Nonprofit, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Therapy dogs will be placed in CIS program schools where students are disproportionately affected by poverty, substance misuse, or other at-risk situations, and are in the greatest need of a support animal. The dogs will serve as a healthy and friendly outlet for these students to address trauma and other social-emotional issues.

WHAT: Introduction of Barney, a male Labrador Retriever, who is the 28th therapy dog to be placed as part of First Lady Cathy Justice's Friends With Paws initiative.
