The cost of groceries in America is out of control. The reason for the price hikes, plain and simple, is corporate greed.

Grocery costs have risen 25 percent since 2019. Big grocery giants took advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to make record profits, and now they continue to raise prices even as inflation steadies. These big box stores also used their economic power to muscle out small grocery stores, stifling competition and hurting communities nationwide. 

Meanwhile, food companies are putting less food in packages despite charging more. This money is only going into the pockets of these big corporations. Our farmers and ranchers are making less than ever, even as demand soars. 

Enough is enough. Our food supply chain is broken, and it’s up to Congress to fix it. Sign the petition: Demand that Congress help consumers and stop price-gouging in our food supply chain. 

Congress has a duty to make this right for our farmers, small business owners, and everyone struggling to put food on the table.
