After an absurd end to a disastrous session, Democrats torpedoed anything remaining of decorum and ethics at the Capitol. With no time to debate or read, and barely an hour left to go, the Democrat Majority dropped a 1431-page omnibus bill, stuffed with provisions raising taxes, increasing the cost of energy, threatening constitutional rights of law-abiding Minnesotans. What’s worse, an alleged felon who was arrested for felony burglary, whom the DFL have defended and protected for the last few weeks, was the deciding vote.

In my entire time in Saint Paul I have never seen anything like this. The actions of the Democrats cut out debate and dissent, and the minority party and it’s constituents completely, something that until now was inconceivable with such a razor thin majority of 34-33. It was a complete breach of the public trust, and degrading to any notion of transparency. Democrats have gotten comfortable with abusing their power, and they will continue to do so until they are forced to answer for their actions.
