Hi John, We have an exciting opportunity to make big, bold transformative change at the ballot this November that could advance affordable housing solutions for hundreds of thousands of our neighbors in need. NPH has been proudly anchoring efforts for our Bay Area Housing for All (BAHA) coalition to advance a $20 billion 9-county Bay Area affordable housing bond measure that would deliver a historic influx of resources for affordable housing and homelessness solutions through the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA). This bond could help create or preserve 72,000 homes across the Bay Area! After working closely with BAHA to achieve several milestones and decision points, we’re happy to share that elected officials serving through the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and BAHFA Oversight Committee have recommended the bond for approval, successfully moving the proposal forward for its next critical decision-point. |

🔊 A Campaign that Can Deliver on Our Communities’ Needs – and Top Priorities! A 2024 survey of Bay Area voters found that the Bay is hungry for transformational change now. And the more voters learn about the Bay Area regional bond’s potential impacts – reducing homelessness and creating tens of thousands of jobs and tens of thousands of affordable homes – the stronger their support is for enacting this change. |

🌄 What’s Next: We Need Your Support! The next BAHFA meeting is coming up TOMORROW, May 22 at 9:40AM at the Bay Area Metro Center in San Francisco and we need you to attend and give public comment! Your thoughts on why this bond is so important for your work and organization help strengthen the case for the regional bond and ensure it has the strong support it will need to win BAHFA’s endorsement to send it to the November ballot! (View meeting details and please email me to let me know if you’re planning to attend!) It is absolutely critical that we continue to build a strong and durable regional campaign and we can’t do this without you. We must remain united, work in partnership, and keep our eye on the prize: an affordable and thriving future for Bay Area residents who need our help to stay in the communities they love. |
