Hi there, May represents Mental Health Awareness Month — and my administration has been taking action every day to improve access and quality of care for New Yorkers.

Mental health is the defining challenge of our time, and it’s why we’re taking historic action to address the mental health crisis.

Last year, I introduced a $1 billion plan to address the mental health crisis impacting too many people in our state and around the country.

I'm addressing the full spectrum of mental health care, from young people suffering from elevated levels of anxiety and depression to those with severe mental illness who too often go untreated. I'm getting New Yorkers the care they deserve.

I’ve also introduced bold proposals to support people coming in and out of prison with consistent mental health treatments to help them rehabilitate and keep our families safe.

Our mental health system has been underfunded for decades, but not anymore. My administration is prioritizing high-quality, affordable, and accessible mental health care. We are building a system where all New Yorkers can access the care and support they need.

Thank you for supporting these efforts. Nothing is more important to me than keeping New Yorkers safe and healthy, and that means access to mental health care.
