News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:

Huge win for San Antonio!
For months, I have been fighting for a legislative solution to enable a nonstop flight between Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and San Antonio.

San Antonio is the seventh largest city in America; it is home to 82,000 active-duty military and civilian support personnel, tens of thousands of veterans, and the second largest cybersecurity community in the US.

Congress voted last week to do just that. I was proud to vote this bill; it is exactly what we needed to enable a nonstop flight between San Antonio International Airport and DCA.

1 year later, H.R. 2 sits in the Senate while Americans die
Just over 1 year ago, the House passed the Secure the Border Act (HR 2), the strongest border security legislation to pass a body of Congress.

Since then, Senator Chuck Schumer has allowed the bill to just sit on his desk while Americans are dying and millions are crossing the border every year.

I wrote an op-ed this week renewing the call for Senate democrats to take up and pass the policies in HR 2.

Passing HR 2 would not be a Republican win or a Democrat win, but rather a win for all Americans. No more waiting – let’s get this passed and secure our country.

Fighting for healthcare freedom
ObamaCare became law 14 years ago. Has it helped? No. Instead, healthcare prices have increased greatly, with many Americans struggling to pay their medical bills.

This week, I laid out a plan for Republicans to reform and restore healthcare freedom. Republicans will not lower healthcare prices without going after the Big Hospital, Big Insurance, Big Corporation and Big Pharma leviathan that ObamaCare is protecting — as politically difficult as that will be.

We have to provide our own positive vision of what American healthcare should look like instead of tinkering at the margins; that starts with slashing regulations and government healthcare spending, not accepting it, and trying to make it more efficient.

How many terrorists?
There have been millions of illegal immigrants that have crossed over the border throughout the Biden administration’s reckless handling of border security. In those numbers, there have been hundreds of illegals that have been apprehended that were on the terror watchlist.

The Biden administration won’t reveal where these terror individuals came from, despite a Freedom of Information (FOIA) request from Fox News.

The Biden administration denied the request to protect the privacy of the individuals apprehended. Instead of briefing members of Congress and American citizens on national security threats, Biden chooses to protect the privacy of a terrorists.

The American people deserve to know where these terrorists came from.
