The ad, produced in the style of fictitious newspaper articles about a Trump victory in 2024, included multiple paragraphs of placeholder text from World War 1 that the devious little Nazis who do the grunt work for the Trump campaign "forgot" to remove. We didn't need a campaign ad dogwhistle to remind us of Donald's fascistic fantasies, but it sure does hammer home just what's at stake this election.

Trump's attorneys in his porn star hush money trial called their first witness to the stand after the prosecution rested its case, bringing one-time Michael Cohen legal adviser Robert Costello before the court to undermine Cohen's credibility and testify about his state of mind before he went to prison for crimes he committed on behalf of the disgraced ex-president. But Costello seemed to be performing for audience of one, and his petulant behavior resulted in the presiding judge clearing the courtroom for what we can only assume was a thorough, behind-closed-doors dressing down. Hard to see how such a performance helps the disgraced ex-president in the eyes of the jury, but carry on, sir!

Snyder, a longtime MAGA man who has donated more than $1.2 million to Trump's previous campaigns, is back in the news because he apparently was too stupid to realize the soon-to-be-released Donald Trump biopic he helped finance, The Apprentice, portrays the disgraced ex-president in a rather accurate and unflattering light. Snyder has apparently been embroiled in a legal battle with the film’s producers since he saw an early cut of it in February, attempting to change the script or block the film outright over his incredibly biased objections. When his suggestions didn't stick, Snyder turned to cease-and-desist letters in a last ditch effort to shut the film down. Nevertheless, the film persisted, receiving an 11-minute ovation at its Cannes Film Festival premiere this week. Incredible stuff.

Individual members of Israel’s security forces are tipping off far-right activists and settlers to the location of aid trucks delivering vital supplies to starving Palestinians in Gaza, enabling the groups to block and vandalize the convoys, according to multiple sources. Settlers intercepting the vital humanitarian supplies to the strip are receiving information about the location of the aid trucks from members of the Israeli police and military, a spokesperson from the main Israeli activist group behind the blockades told The Guardian. Those blocking the vehicles say the aid they carry is being diverted by Hamas instead of being delivered to civilians in need — a claim relief agencies reject. More than 2.2 million Palestinians are under threat of catastrophic, full-blown famine with nowhere to turn as the war enters its eighth month with no end in sight.

Workers claim Amazon’s AI-enabled surveillance violates labor law
In news no one should find shocking, Amazon has been accused of using “intrusive algorithms” as part of a sweeping surveillance program to monitor and deter union organizing activities. But warehouse workers in St. Louis, Missouri, are fighting back, filing an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board. There have been several reports of Amazon surveilling workers over union organizing and activism, including human resources monitoring employee message boards, software to track union threats, and job listings for intelligence analysts to monitor "labor organizing threats." Wendy Taylor, a packer at Amazon’s STL8 fulfillment center since August 2020 and an organizing committee member, called the extreme monitoring measures "out of control." "We have an injury crisis and we're being watched and you feel like you're in prison. We just want people to know we have a right to organize, the right to form a union, and the right to have a safer work environment," Taylor said.
