Jack, send a letter to President Biden: Over-the-counter birth control must be covered by insurance–no prescription required.

Great news! The arrival of Opill—a daily, progestin-only birth control pill now available over-the-counter in drugstores and online—makes birth control more accessible than ever. Yet, the current cost of approximately $20 per month won't be affordable for many people.
It’s crucial that the Biden Administration clarifies that over-the-counter options like Opill, which do not require a prescription, should also be covered by all insurance plans, including Medicaid. This coverage is essential for ensuring that all individuals, especially young people and those with limited financial resources, have affordable access to contraception.
Send a letter to President Biden and his Administration asking them to require insurance coverage of ALL over-the-counter contraceptives — without a prescription.

The birth control pill is now available over the counter! This is big news for our reproductive health care access.
However, under current administrative guidance, health plans can still require a prescription for oral contraceptives if you want it covered by your insurance.
This is a barrier that defeats the objective of making birth control easier to get and negates the over-the-counter access for those who want their medication covered. That’s why we are pushing for the Biden administration to make no-cost coverage without a prescription an explicit requirement for all over-the-counter contraceptives.
Join us as we continue to fight for accessible, affordable reproductive health care.
