SCOTUS is slow walking this case so much that South Carolina announced that they're holding the 2024 elections under these maps that a lower federal court found racially biased.
This is how the MAGA Republicans keep winning -- they tilt the playing field their way and legislate themselves into office using shady maps to rig elections before they happen. It's the worst kind of politics, where politicians choose their voters instead of the other way around.
It's time for this shameful exercise to end, John, and it needs to end today. RUSH $25 or more to end the GOP's extremist court pipeline and give us the progressive judges we deserve >> [[link removed]]
Politico: Supreme Court likely to side with South Carolina GOP in racial gerrymandering case [[link removed]]
John: There are few states in the country where the gerrymanders are as blatantly based on race as South Carolina.
That apparently doesn't matter, however, as the Trump MAGA Supreme Court’s conservative majority looks like they will uphold a Republican-drawn congressional district in South Carolina that a lower court found was racially gerrymandered.
The case — Alexander v. South Carolina Conference of the NAACP — comes from the NAACP accusing Republican lawmakers of drawing the state’s 1st District, represented by GOP Rep. Nancy Mace, by shuffling Black voters in and out of the district to make it reliably Republican. The NAACP and other challengers argued that the maps intentionally sort out Black voters and move them into the state’s 6th District, which is represented by longtime Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn.
The court’s conservative majority conducted themselves like the court session was virtually an unnecessary speed bump on their route to supporting their MAGA Republican brethren.
John: This kind of "bought and paid for" hearing by an ultra-conservative court is what we're fighting back against. Pitch in $25 or whatever you can right now to protect our Democratic Senate majority and stop any more conservative justices joining the Supreme Court >> >> [[link removed]]

In the wake of Donald Trump's presidency, we've seen hard-right judges stacked on the Supreme Court, federal courts, and state courts across the country, delivering devastating rulings that have weakened voting rights, gun reforms, climate protections, and completely overturned abortion rights.
We must fight back and put more Democrats on the courts. [[link removed]]
The Senate is the only body which can confirm federal judges and as such, Democratic control of the Senate is crucial to shaping judicial appointments. We must ensure the Senate stays in Democratic hands in 2024.
And in the states, we must pour resources into often highly contested judicial races that get little attention, but that have a wide influence on the daily lives of Americans.
Progress Courts PAC is working every day to hold the Senate and help elect progressive judges across the country, and we need your help.
