This week, we saw the impact of gerrymandering on Wisconsinites in the most appalling way imaginable: voters had to choose between their right to cast a ballot or protecting their health and the health of their loved ones.

Gerrymandered maps allowed Speaker of the Assembly Robin Vos and Senate Leader Scott Fitzgerald to hold onto the majority in Wisconsin's legislature even though their party failed to gain a majority of the vote during the 2018 elections. On Tuesday, they used that illegitimate power to force their constituents to make an impossible choice no one should ever have to make in a democracy.

This is the clearest example of why it's so important for you to get involved in our mission, friend. Self-serving politicians who make themselves unaccountable to the voters will do anything to hold onto power. We urgently need you to get involved in this fight -- can you make a donation to support All On The Line's work for fair elections before midnight tonight?

The Wisconsin legislature's devastating failure to protect their constituents was amplified on Monday night by a disastrous decision from the United States Supreme Court. Up until then, voters would have at least had an additional amount of time to cast their absentee ballots, based on an order from the federal district court. This was supported by Wisconsin election officials! But the Supreme Court's conservative majority reversed that extension on an emergency appeal, silencing thousands of Wisconsinites who hadn't even received their ballots in the mail yet.

The hypocrisy of map manipulators is mind-numbing. The Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly -- wearing a protective gown, face mask, and gloves -- told citizens who he forced to wait in line that they were safe.

The degradation of our democracy by an uncaring minority must end. It's on all of us to help end it. Please chip in to help us build a grassroots movement that cannot fail in its fight to achieve fair elections for all.

Thank you for your work,
Eric H. Holder, Jr.
