Daily Docket — Monday, May 20

There was a legislative victory for Minnesota voters last week.
* Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) signed ([link removed]) a pro-voter package into law — which includes the Minnesota Voting Rights Act — to protect ballot access after the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals gutted private enforcement of the federal Voting Rights Act in the state.

Federal courts have also delivered some victories for voters recently.
* The U.S. Supreme Court won't hear ([link removed]) a right-wing lawsuit seeking to overturn Oregon’s mail-in voting system, officially putting an end to the lawsuit.

* The Supreme Court hasn't decided ([link removed]) whether it will take up a case from Pennsylvania Republicans contesting Biden's executive action on voter registration, but the Court said it won't expedite consideration of the GOP's appeal. The case will continue on a normal briefing schedule.

There are some developments in the Arizona election subversion case.
* Rudy Giuliani was finally served ([link removed]) with a notice of his Arizona indictment at his 80th birthday party in Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend. Giuliani and 17 others were charged ([link removed]) with felonies over the fake electors scheme to overturn the 2020 election in the Grand Canyon State.
* Twelve prominent Republicans are set to be arraigned ([link removed]) in an Arizona courtroom tomorrow for a number of felonies related to their involvement to overturn the results of the 2020 election and falsely declare Trump the winner of the key battleground state.

Right-wing groups filed election cases in Maryland and Nevada that may harm voters.
* The right-wing group, United Sovereign Americans, appealed ([link removed]) their lawsuit seeking to upend election administration in Maryland to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. A lower court had dismissed the case.
* This little-known group has plans to bring similar lawsuits in other states — our members are getting a deeper look into the group later this week. Sign up now ([link removed]) to get the expose sent straight to your inbox.
* Another right-wing group, PILF ([link removed]) , filed ([link removed]) a lawsuit to compel Washoe County, Nevada to investigate people who are allegedly registered to vote at commercial addresses, claiming that they're in violation of state law.
* The Democratic National Committee is intervening in Nevada to fight against the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee’s lawsuit to toss mail-in ballots. Marc explains why Democrats and nonpartisan groups are fighting back and why it’s important to them to challenge GOP lawsuits. Watch it here. ([link removed])
