Following January 6, 2021 – for the first time in history – the Capitol Grounds were closed to demonstrators.
On Nancy Pelosi’s watch, fences went up and the First Amendment disappeared.
If you recall, it was a dark time for free expression in America. The People’s House was closed to the people.
Even when the gates came down, Capitol Police enforced a “no demonstration zone” prohibiting all forms of expression on the lower steps leading up to the Capitol…
… unless groups had the permission of a member of Congress.
Unconstitutional!
But on Friday, a federal district court ruled in favor of Rev. Mahoney striking down this unconstitutional “no demonstration zone” and safeguarding his – and your – free speech rights on the U.S. Capitol Grounds.
