I’ll confess: I’m surprised that House Republicans haven’t changed the Congressional dress code to require tinfoil hats (at least, not yet).
You see, crafting elaborate conspiracy theories is hard work – but someone’s gotta do it. Otherwise, what would the blowhards over at Fox News and NewsMax talk about all day, every day?
Remember the “migrant caravan” that – poof – disappeared as soon as the 2018 midterms wrapped up? What about the bogus moral panic over drag queens reading books to kids?
The reason Republicans spend so much time spinning culture-war conspiracies is because it helps them win elections – at the expense of our democracy.
That’s all the more reason to organize a pro-science, pro-truth, pro-democracy coalition strong enough to kick the tinfoil-hat wearers out of Congress once and for all. So please, friend, join the fight by pitching in $25. I promise you won’t regret it.
Very gratefully,
Sean Casten
