It’s been heartening to see all the ways that people around the world are showing their gratitude for frontline health care workers during this pandemic.
In the United Kingdom, people are opening their windows to #ClapforCarers every evening to collectively thank the National Health Service workers who are putting their lives at risk to save others. New York and other cities are doing the same.
We know that these small gestures taken together make a difference to the nurses who are working long hours in dire conditions. That’s why we’re collecting signatures for a massive thank you card to send to nurses on the front lines.
Every day, nurses are wearing whatever protective gear they can get their hands on (sometimes none) and, in some cases, facing retaliation from hospital administration for it. This is completely unacceptable, and we will not stand for it.
Our nurses are the best defense that we have to curb the impacts of this deadly virus, and we want them to know that we have their backs – no matter what.
We recognize their sacrifice, their pain, and the unjust position they’ve been put in – being sent to battle without the armor they need to protect themselves or their patients.
We are fighting like hell to make sure that Congress and the White House act to provide the protections that nurses need – and, in the meantime, we’re going to express our support and thanks any and every way we can.
Add your name and personal message now to make sure nurses feel our love and support.
Thank you for standing with nurses.
