Hey, John let’s be honest. I know if you’re anything like me, your inbox is flooded with hundreds of emails per day.
There’s a lot going on, and you taking the time to open and read our emails means a lot to me.
This is an especially important one, so if you can spare a few moments to really read through this email, it would mean a lot. There’s a lot I want to lay out and you’re one of our most active and involved supporters!
We’re a youth-powered, grassroots organization, John, and that means our organizing is unpredictable. We have to be ready at a moment’s notice to mobilize and take advantage of big moments to grow our momentum for change.
The political and legislative landscape is constantly changing, and for a large national organization like ours, there are few things that we can predict.
That makes the things we can predict that much more critical to how we operate.
One of the MOST important things that we can predict is our monthly recurring donors.
Why are monthly recurring donors so important? The amount of one-time individual donations we receive as an organization varies vastly from month to month.
Without a steady stream of monthly donations coming in our door, it would be impossible to accurately plan our budgets, create long-term strategies to win a future free from gun violence, plan and execute on-the-ground organizing efforts, recruit and train more gun safety champions, and more.
At March For Our Lives, we call our monthly supporter program The Movement Fund.
We’ve set a goal of adding 1,200 additional supporters to The Movement Fund by the end of May.

We have a long road ahead of us, but I’m refusing to lose hope. Even in the short time since I began at March For Our Lives, I’ve seen the NRA begin to flail and lose its ability to have total control over gun safety legislation.
I’ve seen youth from across the country march, peacefully protest, and put pressure on politicians and leaders who need to be held accountable.
I’ve seen our hard work manifest into significant, historical change.
