Girls in Afghanistan are crushed to be told they can't get an education, children in Ukraine miss their teachers, Rohingya children are finding it hard to learn in the refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Around the world, 1.6 billion children face challenges to accessing the education they need — and love. UNICEF and its partners are working to turn the tide on reducing learning poverty, reimagine the education system and ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn.

Help get children back in school by taking UNICEF’s “Math For Good” challenge. You have one minute: very problem you solve will unlock a 25 cent gift to UNICEF — and you can take it as many times as you want >>

Button: Pencils Up!

Simply reopening schools will not heal the scars of the pandemic, let alone fix the high levels of learning poverty that plagued our children even before COVID-19. That’s why UNICEF and its partners are doing everything possible to accelerate improvements to education:

In the Dominican Republic, UNICEF supported the creation of edutainment soap opera “La Peor Novela,” which reached 24 million people and contributed to making child marriage illegal in the country.
In Jordan, a blended online and printed program called Learning Bridges, has accelerated learning for almost half a million students since 2020.
Some 760,000 Ukrainian children, whose education access has been greatly impacted, have received formal or non-formal education since the war began.

These are just some of the recent advancements UNICEF has been able to accomplish with your support. But it’s clear that there is more work left to do.

You can start here with the “Math For Good Challenge” — a fun and stimulating way to support UNICEF’s work for children and education around the world >>

Thank you,
