Team, Mad’s been busy and we’re here again with the latest news on her work that we don’t want you to miss!
Mad was joined by a group of environmental professionals to assess the cleanup progress at Crossley Farm in Hereford Township, Berks County – a Superfund site. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the EPA was awarded $3.5 billion to clean up hazardous waste sites like Crossley Farm. Read more about it here.
"It gives me a lot of pride in the work that the federal government is doing in partnership with the state government and private contractors to clean up this site. We are stewards of this land, and when it gets dumped on we have a responsibility to clean it up for the next generation."

A new study at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove looks at the link between forever chemicals like PFAS and certain diseases. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Defense and the EPA confirmed the presence of toxic chemicals at the base. Having been a leader on PFAS and water contamination going back to her days in the State House, Mad reintroduced the PFAS water bill in Congress – because those affected by such contamination deserve to be compensated. Read more on that here.
In her ongoing fight for clean drinking water across the Commonwealth, Mad helped secure $37 million from the EPA to clean up Pennsylvania’s water by removing PFAS chemicals. Read more about Mad’s work on this here.
“For too long ‘forever chemicals’ have harmed communities in Pennsylvania, like mine. The historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is a major step in environmental justice and in protecting the health and safety of Pennsylvanians.”
— Madeleine Dean
Mad was one of the Representatives in the House who introduced the REPORT Act to protect kids online, and President Biden recently signed the legislation into law. The REPORT Act works to ensure that online service providers submit reports of suspected crimes and exploitation against children online. Read more on Mad’s hard work to protect our kids here.
