John,

During this difficult time when it feels like so much is uncertain and unpredictable, I am focused on what I can control. In our campaign work and in my personal life, I am focused on maintaining strong connections during this time of stress and isolation. I want to share a few ways I’ve found connection:

→ Recreating routine: Every morning, our campaign team gets on a video call to start the day. I like to play a happy song so we can start the day on a positive note. The team checks in with Abigail, and if we’re lucky, one of the Spanberger daughters pops into the frame and tells us what she’s been up to. It’s a great way for our team to connect, face to face, and feels similar to our morning meetings from the campaign office.

→ Finding time with family: My family is spread out across the country, so I already see them less than I want to. During this time, we have “Family Time” on Zoom each Sunday evening, when we eat dinner together and chat about the week. We even did a group FaceTime for my grandfather’s 79th birthday last week. It makes such a difference to see everyone’s faces.

→ Making time for myself: Finding time to exercise while I’m working remotely is important to me. A friend of mine has been hosting virtual yoga classes a few times a week. These classes have been a helpful way for me to unplug, clear my head, and focus on my physical health.

Whatever you do, try to find time to connect with your family and friends. Together, we’ll get through these challenges.

Our campaign is focused on connection, too. We’re checking in with people across the 7th district and connecting with past and present volunteers. At its core, this campaign is about connections. We’re so thankful to have all of you in our corner. If you’re able to, we would greatly appreciate any contribution you’re able to make at this time.

Your contribution helps us keep the Team Spanberger community connected and strong as we work to re-elect Abigail in November.
