Whether you get your news on paper or online – this is something you've got to see:
Justice Clarence Thomas has finally spoken out about the backlash he's receiving for his wife’s efforts to subvert the 2020 election and undisclosed luxury gifts he has accepted from billionaire friends – and he's "choosing not to focus on it."
Justice Thomas has a shady past, but last weekend at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit Judicial Conference, he decided to comment on recent revelations about his integrity (or lack thereof).
The two biggest questions are about how 1️⃣ he failed to disclose years of lavish trips from wealthy conservatives who were involved in cases before the court, and 2️⃣ how he has continued to participate in a number of cases related to the 2020 election despite his wife seeking to overturn the election by appealing to administration officials and lawmakers before January 6th.
But instead of defending his decisions, he danced around the topic to play on the heartstrings of participants, talking about how he and his wife spend time "RV-ing to be around regular people who don’t pride themselves in doing harmful things, merely because they have the capacity to do it.” – he made no mention of the investigation that revealed that he borrowed more than a quarter of a million dollars from a "wealthy friend" to buy the 40-foot luxury motor coach.
John, Clarence Thomas and Justices like him are taking advantage of their power, and there's no end – or accountability – in sight. It's up to us to make things right before it's too late.
