You are invited to join us at a lunch & learn event for the Clean Sweep Program which aims to provide you with the tools, training, and resources you need to develop or enhance a street sweeping program for water quality.  Join the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the University of Minnesota Water Resources Center on May 30th at the MPCA Office in St Paul or virtually. Lunch will be provided if attending in-person for this free event. 

Enhanced Street Sweeping 101 includes:

• Why Sweep More? 
• summary of direct and indirect benefits of enhanced street sweeping
• phosphorus credits for MS4s
• How to Create an Effective Street Sweeping Plan?
• tree canopy cover mapping guidance
• tools for estimating total solids and phosphorus removal
• prioritizing street sweeping routes to maximize benefit
• How to Sweep for Water Quality?
• quick summary of different sweeper types
• reuse options for street sweeping materials
• materials management overview
• guidance on collecting & testing sweeping materials

Who should attend:

• anyone who was not able to attend the 2022 or 2023 Clean Sweep Workshops
• anyone who would like a better understanding of the benefits and logistics of enhanced street sweeping
• anyone working with or managing a street sweeping program that would like more information on the basics of implementing an enhanced program
• anyone who is currently planning or considering an enhanced street sweeping program
• note: young professionals and interns who are interested in increasing their knowledge about this pollution prevention tool are welcome to join us
