In January, the Comptroller’s Office published our first-ever State of the Economy Report. Now, our agency is digging in and releasing four policy briefs examining trends from our initial report.

Earlier this month, we released the first policy brief, highlighting the essential role that international immigration plays in Maryland’s economy!

Immigration is a widely discussed and often polarizing topic in our country. In Maryland, immigrants contribute to and bolster our economy in many ways. They’re consumers, taxpayers, part of our workforce, and small business owners.
