John, the job of making sure DeKalb continues to grow sustainably as a beacon of diversity and progress isn't work Iām ready to give up.
Since I was first elected to the DeKalb County Commission in 2020, I've spent every day advocating for our community and residents. Together, we can continue to:
Expand on the DeKalb Green New Deal by elevating the realities of the climate crisis, pushing for bold solutions and helping enact meaningful policy solutions to protect our communities ā just like we did with the Clean Energy by 2050 commitment, our local environmental conservation efforts, and our effort to ensure it is accessible to everyone in DeKalb.
Improve Public infrastructure by restoring and transforming the aging and deteriorating systems in DeKalb. Fixing our roads, sidewalks, and trail networks; advocating for sustainable housing; and expanding rapid transit will help us create county infrastructure that works for all of our residents.
Increase Access to Healthcare by supporting those in need. Just like we opened mental-health clinics in DeKalb, we need to be advocating for our vulnerable populations, electing local officials that will advocate for those folks in the legislature, and actively defending our residents from the far-right legislation that cuts them off from programs like Medicare and Medicaid.
As Commissioner, I'm going to continue pushing for progress in DeKalb ā but I can only do that with the help of folks like you showing up for progressives at the polls.
Thank you,
Ted Terry
P.S. We still have some last-minute GOTV if you could chip in before Election Day is over. Here's the link: [link removed]
