We've heard a bunch of consternation about how we got this decision. And we get it -- this is a stay, not necessarily the final resolution of this map. But it's important to realize that no matter how we got here, Louisiana's voters got the fairer map they deserved .

CBS: Supreme Court lets Louisiana use congressional map with new majority-Black district in 2024 elections [[link removed]]
It's not often we get to applaud the Supreme Court, John. But they stepped up to overrule a lower federal court to protect the new congressional map intended to better represent Louisiana’s Black voters in compliance with the Voting Rights Act
As we've said before -- this is just the latest twist in a long-running redistricting battle over the rights of our state's Black voters. The Louisiana voters who started this legal fight won a critical stay from Supreme Court on the lower court's decision.
Why is this a big deal? Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder called the lower court decision “ shameful ” and said that it “ unnecessarily put[s] Louisianians’ right to vote in a very precarious position .”
Now Louisiana's voters get the fair maps they deserve. It's been alleged that Louisiana's overtly partisan state legislature specifically drew the map in a way they hoped would get thrown out for the 2024 elections. But now these maps are law, at least for this election cycle, and that represents progress.
John: We can't let blatant partisanship overrule our voting rights. Stand up for fair districts in Louisiana and across the country with $25 or whatever you can today >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
