Friend, The daily coronavirus briefings from the White House have become nothing more than a sideshow. Instead of facts and well-researched guidance, Trump is spewing propaganda, medical misinformation, and downright dangerous advice that is killing people. An Arizona man is dead because he and his wife drank fish cleaner containing chloroquine -- which is related to the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine that Trump has been erroneously promoting. That's why I'm calling on the administration and the White House press corps to feature #DoctorsOnly during the daily briefing. It's the best way to get people the real information they need -- not Trump's fantasies. We need to show that people are fed up with Trump's free license to spew dangerous misinformation on our TVs every day. Friend, if you agree, sign our petition and demand the daily coronavirus briefings feature relevant medical experts, not Donald Trump. We need our leaders to develop well-laid plans to keep people safe. To do that, we need to listen to experts with relevant medical backgrounds. Sadly, we don't have that right now and if we continue to suffer this dangerous failure of leadership, things will only get worse. But hope is not lost -- wonderful experts who grasp the gravity of the situation and are committed to protecting Americans are available. Experts like Dr. Fauci, who has a lifetime of experience to draw from and want nothing more than to keep people healthy. It was bad enough when the media gave Trump an unlimited platform to spread hate, fear, and lies during his campaign for president. Now, it's absolutely unconscionable for them to do it again when he's proven he'll only abuse it and make this crisis worse. We need to speak out and demand better. Join me and demand that the daily coronavirus briefings feature relevant medical experts, not Donald Trump, Mike Pence, or political hucksters. Thank you, Eddie Mauro | |
