On Thursday, The New York Times released a damning report showing that in
the days following the January 6 insurrection in 2021, and while the
Supreme Court was considering Trump's case to overturn the election,
Justice Samuel Alito was flying an upside-down American flag in his front
yard—a symbol that had been adopted by insurrectionists to show their
support of Trump's despicable "Stop the Steal" effort.^1
And now, in the coming days, Alito will participate in deciding if Trump
is immune from prosecution for inciting that insurrection.
This is as clear-cut as it gets. Alito is unfit to sit on the court and
must recuse himself from any cases involving Trump.
But we know he won't. This is the same man who gleefully wrote the opinion
to overturn Roe v. Wade. And now he joins Clarence Thomas as yet another
member of the Supreme Court with direct ties to the insurrection.
We have to stop them. But the only way to do that is by winning in
November and delivering a Democratically controlled House and Senate to
President Biden, so that they can immediately pass the existing Supreme
Court reform bill which includes an enforceable code of ethics.

The level of abject corruption from the MAGA members of this Supreme Court
is truly astounding.
But John, if Trump wins, it will get infinitely worse.
Experts predict that if Trump wins, he will have the opportunity to
appoint at least two more justices to the Supreme Court, solidifying a
far-right majority for decades to come. A far-right majority who will
eagerly strip more rights away from women, the LGBTQ+ community, and
people of color, and grant even more power to corporations and
billionaires.
The question is simple: Do you want another Ketanji Brown Jackson on the
court, or do you want another Samuel Alito?
That is the choice we are all making this November. The risk is too big to
sit out. We need to harness our anger, lock arms, and sweep this
despicable, hateful MAGA movement into the dustbin of history.
