Introduced Legislation to Protect Our Second Amendment
The Second Amendment gives American citizens the right to defend themselves, but Democrats are now using every avenue of attack to destroy it. I joined 86 Republicans in the introduction of a Congressional Review Act resolution that would end the Biden administration’s new background check rule. Read my full release here.
Standing With Israel
After Joe Biden announced that he would stop military aid to our most precious ally, Israel, House Republicans passed H.R. 8369 - the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, condemning Biden's dangerous decision to pause arms and reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense. Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer, stated that he would not bring this bill to the floor for a vote because of Joe Biden’s threat to veto. This is unacceptable. Our enemies must understand there is no place for them in this fight, while our allies should have confidence we will be there when they call. I will always stand with Israel.
Honoring the Heroes of Law Enforcement
National Police Week is a time to pause and recognize the brave men and women of law enforcement who risk their lives each day to keep our communities safe. I was proud to join my colleagues in placing a flag to honor these heroes. Our thanks will never be enough!
Small Business Committee Hearing
I led a committee hearing focused on oversight of the SBA’s Office of Capital Access. This office oversees the SBA’s lending programs, including the flagship 7(a) loan program. In April of last year, the SBA finalized two rules that make drastic and concerning changes to this program, threatening Main Street. Watch my opening statement here.
Financial Services Committee Hearing
This week, I questioned FDIC Chairman Gruenberg on two regulations that would hamper the lending ability of financial institutions across the nation. Businesses across the country are struggling to navigate this regulatory landscape and handle the increase in burdensome requirements. Watch my line of questioning here.
Defending Main Street Against Biden’s Burdensome Regulations
I had the opportunity to meet with Kia executives and dealers to discuss issues affecting the auto industry. Congress must stand against the Biden administration's regulatory attacks and defend Main Street.
Met With the Fort Worth Army Corps of Engineers
I met with the Fort Worth Army Corps of Engineers to discuss their important work in protecting national security by ensuring up-to-date military infrastructure and protecting our nation’s major waterways. We must allow small businesses to compete for these contracts and stand against oversteps by federal agencies which delay projects and hurt businesses.
Congressional Art Competition Winner
Each year, students from across the country compete in the Congressional Art Competition for an opportunity to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol. I am proud to announce Ariani Curran, of Kennedale High School as the 2024 winner for TX-25. I was impressed with the talent our young artists showed in this year's competition, and I am confident in the bright and creative futures that these students have ahead. See second and third place submissions in my full release.
In Case You Missed It!
I joined WBAP to discuss the top issues facing our nation. From Biden’s burdensome push for electric vehicles, to the Senate’s refusal to act on the strongest border legislation in history, this administration continues to put the wellbeing of the American people last. Listen here.
