Dear John,
The far-right Heritage Foundation’s radical blueprint for demolishing the U.S. government, known as “Project 2025,” provides a plan for a new Trump administration that is ruthless in its ambitions and all-encompassing in its scope.
Project 2025 calls for purging nonpartisan experts from every government agency, and replacing them with loyal Trump foot soldiers who will commit to carrying out the most extreme policies ever laid out in such detail.
The Heritage Foundation is already vetting resumes and interviewing applicants to build a white, Christian nationalist government, to fill the positions of the 50,000 government employees Trump intends to fire -- on day one. They plan to eviscerate the Environmental Protection Agency, eliminate the Commission on Civil Rights, and close down any agency that protects consumers or fosters diversity and inclusion.
Who exactly is funding these profoundly anti-American initiatives? Following the money, we find that corporate giants Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase all provide financial support for Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation. Indeed I've written about Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase, perhaps the most influential CEO in America, caving into the integrity-crushing intimidation of the Trump administration. Clearly these corporations need to be reminded of their responsibility to all Americans to create a society that protects and defends human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
Send your letter to the CEOs of Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase demanding the end of all financial support for the Heritage Foundation. They must reject Trump’s Project 2025 now. Click here to send a pre-written letter, or customize it to make it your own.
We need to hold these Wall Street Banks responsible to demonstrate a renewed commitment to American democracy. We must demand they take three steps specifically:
-
The banks must publicly denounce Project 2025. Given their support in the past, silence is not an option now. Anything less than a full public denouncement will be seen as tacit support, given their role in funding the creation of these plans.
-
They must agree to permanently eliminate funding of the Heritage Foundation. Corporations that claim to serve the American people must not work against the basic principles of our democracy.
-
And finally, the banks must commit themselves to ethical practices. Transparent dialogue is needed with all Americans, including those who would be excluded by the odious Project 2025: especially people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and all those who support reproductive rights.
It’s crucial that we hold these Wall Street banks accountable and that they break ties with Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation. Sign and send your message now!
Thank you for standing up for American values against the threat of totalitarianism.
