Boundary Waters Business Friday - KEEN Footwear

Amidst the current pandemic, many businesses are doing whatever they can to help. One great example of this is KEEN Footwear, one of our Boundary Waters Business Coalition Members, who donated 100,000 pairs of shoes to people who have been affected by COVID-19. Read more about this meaningful project in their most recent blog here.

KEEN has been a long time partner of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters. Last fall, we collaborated to host KEEN Story Camp, a "public lands open mic session," on the edge of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. KEEN is working to connect more Americans to public lands and inspire people to take action to protect them. If you are looking for a way to dream about the Boundary Waters and pass some time while opting inside, KEEN produced this wonderful 5-minute short film about Boundary Waters KEEN Story Camp -- please watch and share!

Supporting Wilderness-edge communities during COVID-19
While we continue to fight for the Boundary Waters, we know that we have friends and neighbors struggling as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt the lives of so many in our Wilderness-edge communities. There are two things you can do right now to help: Wintergreen Northern Wear needs your support! They are looking for home sewers to help make masks, and donors to help cover the costs for fabric and labor for 3,000 masks for the local Ely community.

Additionally, we ask that if you are able, please donate to the Ely Area Foodshelf or the Cook County Food Shelf in Grand Marais. The food shelves predict that the need for services may double or triple in the coming weeks and months for these Wilderness-edge communities. Thank you for supporting the communities that support the Boundary Waters!
