See this? Throwback to when I won my first 2018 House race, in a Republican-leaning district. The lessons I took from that first race – and my subsequent House races – guide how I approach our Senate campaign now.
Let me explain: One of the reasons we are going to win this race is because of our campaign's ability to reach and turn out moderate, Independent, and even Republican voters this November.
It's how I got elected to the House, and how I'll get elected to the Senate this November.
I like to call it "losing better." We get more votes in places Democrats normally get clobbered.
But it doesn't happen by luck. There's no magic potion that wills that result into existence. It takes work. Organizing. Advertising.
It takes resources.
The truth is, the response to emails like this has to make up the MAJORITY of our fundraising going forward. That doesn't mean I expect you to donate to every email, but as we're a bit short of our goals to this point in May, I hope you'll donate to this one:
Can I count on you to contribute to my campaign for U.S. Senate in Michigan? We'll put your donation right to work holding this seat for Democrats this fall while also turning out voters in Michigan for Joe Biden.
