John, For the first time in 28 years, my name will not appear on the primary ballot, but I am totally dialed in.
Election day will be bittersweet for me, but will usher in an exciting time for the future of our community. We've made some amazing progress over the last three decades and it's important that we not let up on our efforts. In my final seven months in office, I will do everything in my power to ensure a seamless transition to the next generation of leadership.
We have a progressive agenda that our region needs. I'm confident that together we're going to move forward on critical issues: our housing crisis, finally ending the failed war on drugs, and making sure Oregon remains a beacon for reproductive freedom is now more important than ever.
We must fight hard to take advantage of federal funding opportunities to enhance our livable community.
While I may not be in Congress next year, I'll continue fighting for these changes and more – this time as a civilian, friend, and neighbor.
Fight to make sure everyone votes in this primary election that will help determine the progress we make over the next decade. Take a moment now to remind friends and family to get their ballots turned in before 8 p.m. Tuesday. More than ever, it's critical everybody's voice is heard to protect the democratic process.
Courage,
Earl
