Welcome back to Kemp’s Weekly Chop. In this series, we’ll keep you updated on Governor Brian Kemp’s accomplishments and events, as well as key news stories from the week.

This past Sunday, Governor Kemp celebrated his wife, Marty Kemp, on Mother’s Day.

Marty is a wonderful mother to their girls, and the best First Lady in the country.

She cares deeply about the state of Georgia and is fighting alongside Brian Kemp to always put hardworking families first.

During NATIONAL POLICE WEEK, Brian Kemp sent the message loud and clear that he will always back our men and women in law enforcement.

“In Georgia we value law enforcement. That’s why we again raised pay for state public safety officers and created a peace officer student loan repayment program. This #NationalPoliceWeek, we say thank you to all those in law enforcement whose bravery and sacrifices keep us safe!”

This week, First Lady Marty Kemp, supported the rollout in Georgia of the new national suicide prevention hotline

“The first lady told reporters Tuesday that promoting the 988 hotline and tackling the stigma often associated with seeking mental health care is a priority for her. She was also recently featured in an ad promoting 988 where her message is the same as it is today: It’s OK to not be OK.”

To wrap up the week, Brian Kemp spoke to the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber about economic growth.

“The Northwest corner of our state is experiencing incredible economic growth, like every other region of Georgia, and we’re thankful for the partnership of these business and community leaders.”

- On Election Day, you must vote at your designated polling place. You can find your assigned polling location on your voter registration card, by logging into the Secretary of State’s
