Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin called on morally bankrupt Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to recuse himself from any cases related to the 2020 election after the New York Times reported that an upside-down American flag — a widely recognized symbol of the seditious "Stop the Steal" movement — flew outside of his house in 2021, days before Joe Biden was sworn in as president. The flag "clearly creates the appearance of bias," Durbin wrote in the understatement of the year. "The court is in an ethical crisis of its own making," Durbin added, "and Justice Alito and the rest of the court should be doing everything in their power to regain public trust."
