Hiring Line Newsletter

The surge in illegal immigration has added millions of less-educated workers to the U.S. labor market. Most illegal aliens are economic migrants seeking work. Most are hard workers. The United States doesn’t need them.

Two out of every five working-age Black Americans with only a high school degree do not have a job.

Three out of every five with less than a high school degree are jobless.

Political leaders calling for more immigration are carrying on the unseemly American tradition of indifference to foundational Americans descended from slaves.

Dissident Dialogues: The conference for dangerous ideas

Andre Barnes at Dissident Dialogues

(ANDRE) May 3rd-May 4th: I went to New York to be a part of a conference called Dissident Dialogues. The conference coined itself as “A place for dangerous ideas”. The theme of the conference was not immigration but the topic came up all weekend. I went there to meet some influential people, hear some new ideas, and to capture the hearts and minds of participants through the gifting of Roy Beck’s masterpiece, Back of The Hiring Line.

Lower wages is a feature of mass immigration, not a bug.

Economists, pundits, and politicians keep getting caught saying the quiet part out loud: Mass immigration isn’t solving a labor shortage; it’s depressing Americans’ wages; and that is the point. Click here for the latest foot-in-mouth developments, including NYC Mayor Adams’ proposal to give summer lifeguard jobs to illegal aliens.

Black Baltimore: Seen and Considered!

The Coalition of Concerned Freedmen is calling for the Biden administration to reject proposals to rebuild the bridge with illegal foreign labor. And in an ingenious move, they are calling on the government to conduct “a comprehensive environmental impact statement of the proposed labor sourcing plan” to determine job opportunities for residents of Baltimore, which is 62 percent Black.

There are no jobs Americans won’t do.

Oh, there are applicant shortages in America. You can find lots of examples where there aren’t enough applicants for jobs offered at certain wages. But there is no shortage of labor. Nor is there such a thing as a “job Americans won’t do.” None. Not even in agriculture. Never forget:

Pushback in the Palmetto State

(ANDRE) While I was speaking at a college in South Carolina, I found myself getting into the weeds about immigration with students and professors. Sensible immigration is a dangerous idea to some because to them anything about reducing the numbers of people coming across the border is racist or anti immigrant.

Sir Charles, gives us a news update
(about the illegal aliens who were released after assaulting an officer)

In my latest article of Non Political People Spilling the Tea on Immigration, Charles Barkley is the next celebrity to spill the tea about immigration. He actually gives us an update about the illegal aliens that beat up the police officer in New York. Most of you haven’t heard this yet and you will not want to miss this article.

Border Tour: Understanding the Kabuki theater

I went on a border tour with the Center of Immigration studies for a week. I have pictures, revelations, and even breaking news incorporated into this article. Don’t miss out on what I learned! My account of the trip will provide you with a better understanding about how policy, not the show of enforcement, is king.

I wear my agitator/collaborator hat to visit with TakeChargeMN and guess who I meet?

Carol Swain and Andre Barnes
With Carol Swain

NumbersUSA was graciously invited to a gala by Kendall Qualls, the founder of TakeChargeMN. This organization is committed to supporting the notion that the promise of America is available to everyone no matter race or social station. While I was there I had the pleasure of meeting the legend Dr. Carol Swain. Relationship building is essential as we continue to march lockstep towards sensible immigration policies.

This Month In History - The bill that made middle class America.

On May 15th, 1924 - 100 years ago this Wednesday - the U.S. Senate and House passed the Immigration Act of 1924 with overwhelming majorities. The vote in the Senate was 69 to 9 for the conference report, and in the House it was 308 to 58. President Coolidge signed the bill into law on May 26th.

The bill ended the Great Wave of mass immigration and moderated the numbers to less than 200,000 per year for the next four decades. During that time, America became a true middle class nation for the first and only time in our history. Wages and wealth grew for all Americans, and inequality shrank…at least until Congress restarted mass immigration in 1965.

Listen to recent media appearances from Andre and Roy here (0:47 - 1:26), here, and here.

Let’s talk about it,
