Riley’s story won’t be easy for you to read. It’s not easy for me to write. But
we cannot turn our backs on abused animals — not now, not ever. And I hope that

Riley, a four-month-old Labrador puppy, was burned with acid across his face and
eye. He was beaten until his jaw was broken. Then he was left for dead near a
schoolyard in California.

Due to the actions of a Good Samaritan and a local rescue group, Riley survived. But justice has not been served. John, victims like Riley need a dedicated advocate
