Friend,
Last week a Washington Post exclusive revealed that at a dinner in Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump told top oil executives that he wanted them to raise $1 billion for his campaign and said he would roll back dozens of Biden’s environmental policies. These reversals would benefit the oil executives through tax breaks and lack of regulation, and Trump claimed that the $1 billion would be a “deal” because of it.
Listen, we’ve known that Donald Trump is corrupt for years now, but this quid pro quo is disturbing and just another example of how Trump is beholden to Big Money and special interests, and not the American people. He is clearly begging the oil industry to finance his reelection bid and letting them shape his environmental policy if he is elected.
Our elected officials should be listening to the American people, not whoever can write the biggest checks. This is corruption, plain and simple, and our country deserves better than politicians who still engage in this type of behavior. If you’re ready to fight alongside us for stronger anti-corruption laws, please chip in $10 and join us in our work to end corruption in all its forms.

Climate change is an existential threat, and we need to be pushing for legislation to protect our environment and hold Big Oil accountable, not promising to roll back crucial regulations in exchange for a check. This is exactly why we need to get Big Money out of our politics once and for all- to ensure that all Americans have their voices heard, not just the richest among us.
ECU/LAV Action Fund has been fighting for years for anti-corruption legislation that would get Big Money out of politics, but we can’t keep up our fight alone. If you’re sick of politicians that are beholden to big checks and not the American people, please donate $10 or whatever you can right now. Our democracy is at stake.
