 Rohingyas Refugees Need You Help

Dear John,

Imagine clinging to a rickety boat in the vast darkness of the open ocean, waves crashing, fear gripping your heart. This is the desperate reality for Rohingya refugees fleeing persecution, risking their lives on perilous sea journeys in search of safety.

In 2023 alone, a shocking 569 Rohingya were reported missing or dead in South-East Asian waters, with nearly 4,500 embarking on these deadly voyages – a grim increase from previous years.

Each life lost is a tragedy, a family shattered, a future stolen.

It’s your support that can make the difference. When you support UNHCR, you are directly helping Rohingya refugee families access safe shelter and lifesaving food.

Most of these refugees are vulnerable children and women, who are especially at risk on these overcrowded vessels with scarce resources. The journeys themselves are fraught with danger – lack of food and water, gender-based violence, and hazardous weather. One in every eight people who attempt these journeys loses their life.

The Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal have become one of the deadliest stretches of water in the world. But there is hope.

UNHCR is on the ground, at the deboarding points, providing immediate lifesaving assistance and protection to those who make it. Your donation can help us deliver:

🤲 Safe shelter from the elements and gender-based violence.

📦 Essential supplies like food, water, and hygiene kits.

⚕️ Medical care for the physically and mentally traumatized.

💙 Protection from further harm and exploitation.

Please donate today and help UNHCR be their lifeline to a brighter future.

With sincere gratitude,
