Dear neighbor,

Happy Infrastructure Week! While infrastructure was just a punchline in the previous Administration, President Biden and Democrats passed a law to rebuild our nation’s roads, bridges, and highways. The critical investments we made through the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are easing supply chain bottlenecks, bringing down shipping costs for consumers, and creating jobs.

We received some positive economic news this week that inflation continues to cool, the stock market is setting record highs, and unemployment remains at record lows. At the same time, House Democrats know that prices are still too high. That’s why we’re determined to continue our work to put people over politics to lower costs, create jobs, and make our communities safer.

In addition to Infrastructure Week, I am also pleased to celebrate Police Week! As a veteran, I am so grateful for all those who choose to put on a uniform and serve our communities as law enforcement officers. Check out my full remarks from this week’s House Democratic Caucus leadership press conference below.

MISSED CONNECTION: Over the past few weeks, I’ve heard from folks in our congressional district that they rely on the Affordable Connectivity Program for affordable high-speed internet. Unfortunately, due to the House Republican majority’s inaction, this critical program might lose funding. This would jeopardize internet access for over 28,000 households in our community.

I am pleased to cosponsor the bipartisan Affordable Connectivity Extension Act, which would extend funding for the ACP and maintain internet access for millions of Americans. I remain committed to ensuring that hard working families have access to affordable internet and continue to call for a vote on this important bill.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK: At this week’s House Democratic Caucus press conference, Chairman Pete Aguilar (D-CA) and I were honored to be joined by two outstanding freshman members of our Caucus: Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (D-OH) and Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (D-OR). Both of them joined us to highlight their work to deliver for American families while countering extreme MAGA Republicans’ chaos and dysfunction.
