Dear John,
Growing up in the Inland Empire, I know that small businesses are the heart and soul of our community, and a crucial driver of our local economy.
That’s why I invited Small Business Administrator Isabel Guzman to the Inland Empire to visit our small businesses and meet with local small business owners to hear directly about the issues important to them and our community.

Since President Biden took office, the U.S. has seen over 17 million small business applications, including 1.7 million in California.
As your Member of Congress, I’ve been fighting to expedite loans, cut red tape and cut taxes for small businesses to help them compete with large corporations and create good-paying jobs here in the Inland Empire.

After visiting the Laymon Candy Company and Lucky Farms in San Bernardino to see their operations, Administrator Guzman and hosted a roundtable to hear directly from more small business owners in our community about how President Biden and House Democrats' plan to Invest in America has helped them find success, including:
- Record-high number of federal contracts that the Biden Administration has awarded to small businesses.
- The Inflation Reduction Act, which lowered operating costs for small businesses and doubled research and development tax credits for small businesses.
I will continue advocating for more resources for small businesses so that local business owners can continue to thrive, new entrepreneurs can feel confident in opening up shop and the Inland Empire economy continues to grow.

Pete Aguilar
