I'm reaching out to ask you to make a donation to help us fund our effort to get Ed on the ballot.
You see, to get on the ballot, we have to collect signatures from thousands and thousands of registered voters. And since we can't collect these signatures in person anymore, we had to come up with a new plan.
We've quickly organized a system to mail the official paperwork, instructions, and a return envelope to thousands of supporters who have stepped up and said they'll add their name to help get Ed on the ballot.
But we need some help covering this unexpected cost, so I'm hoping you can help.
Can you make a donation to our campaign to help us fund our new effort to get Ed on the ballot? Whatever you can afford to give would go a long way for our campaign.
A month ago, our plan to get these signatures was working perfectly.
We were organizing in every corner of the state at the local, grassroots caucuses. But now, the remainder of those caucuses have been rightfully canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The good news is that our opponent and the state party acknowledged that our lead was insurmountable and that we would have easily won. That's a huge testament to the grassroots movement we've built across the state.
The problem for us is that all of those signatures we counted on collecting aren't possible anymore, along with all of the rest of the in-person events we had planned.
We quickly adjusted and our new plan is already well underway, but these costs weren't in our budget. So I need to ask you to help us fund this effort:
