Democrat,
“When I return to the White House… We will shut down deadly sanctuary cities such as Newark and Philadelphia,” Trump said to his crowd of extremist Republicans this past weekend in Wildwood. While Trump and right wing media outlets were reporting a crowd of eighty thousand, the actual turnout was a fraction of that. Whatever we may think of Trump’s policies, his anti-women, anti-immigrant and racist words do resonate with a certain subset of voters in our state and across the country. We must show that while they’re attending rallies, we’re knocking on doors, registering voters, and coming out to vote in significant numbers.
Let’s remember that New Jersey Democrats are known for excelling at voting by mail. Trump and the GOP know this - which is why while calling it “corrupt” , Trump still encouraged Republicans to vote by mail at the rally. The NJ GOP has caught on that voting by mail is how we win elections. They have begun training their volunteers to emulate our strategy and have put significant money behind vote by mail efforts.
New Jersey Democrats must not take our foot off the gas. Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to use this primary election to practice voting in every single election. Vote early. Vote-by-mail. There are three actions you can take right now. First, familiarize yourself with vote.nj.gov [[link removed]] for all official NJ voting - and election-related information. Second, sign up or volunteer for a local event on the NJDSC Mobilize page [[link removed]] . And lastly, remember Trump’s words he said this weekend “We’re going to win the state of New Jersey” and then show him by a vast margin that that will never happen.

Governor Phil Murphy and Commissioner of Environmental Protection Shawn M. LaTourette launched the modernization of DEP regulations. This program is dedicated to enhancing the protection of our communities from coastal flooding, sea-level rise, and other risks that are increasing due to climate change.
The proposed modernization program, REAL – Resilient Environments and Landscapes – reforms, will lead the nation to renovate land resource protection regulations to combat the increasing impacts of climate change. The REAL reforms will upgrade current flood hazard, stormwater, coastal zone, and freshwater wetland regulations while relieving overburdened communities.
“A product of scientific study and robust stakeholder engagement, the REAL reforms reflect the best available climate science specific to New Jersey and will better protect homes and businesses from current and future climate threats, including sea-level rise, extreme weather, and chronic flooding,” said Governor Murphy .
“The Murphy Administration continues to set a national example of leadership on climate change—the greatest long-term threat facing our communities, economy, and environment,” said Commissioner LaTourette .

President Biden has accepted invitations to debate Donald Trump before the general election. There are now two scheduled debates between President Biden and former President Donald Trump. The first debate will take place on June 27 and will be aired on CNN, while the second is scheduled for Sept. 10 and will be broadcast on ABC News. These debates mark the first in-person interactions between the former president and President Biden in over three years – this is MUST SEE TV. It’s pivotal that we gather to watch and support. I encourage you to use this opportunity to bring friends and family together to learn in real time where the candidates stand on the issues.
Additionally, Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to take part in a vice-presidential debate proposed by CBS News, which is expected to occur in late July following the Republican National Convention.
Stay tuned for watch parties that will take place across the state.
— Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr.
