This week, Republicans in Congress are continuing their anti-environment agenda by releasing their partisan Farm Bill - which seeks to cut SNAP nutrition benefits and conservation efforts that our SEEC Members passed in the Inflation Reduction Act.
Our coalition, led by SEEC Climate and Agriculture Task Force Co-Chairs Chellie Pingree and Kim Schrier, is fighting back and urging lawmakers to hold the line against Republican efforts to erode environmental progress and slash nutrition program funding.
For decades, Republicans and Democrats have worked in a bipartisan way to pass a Farm Bill to support our farmers and provide hunger assistance to those who would otherwise go hungry.
But now Republicans are working in a partisan fashion to erode the climate guardrails we implemented and slash nutrition assistance for struggling families. This is a preview of what they will do if they take full control of Congress and the presidency this November.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
