John,
Today marks the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education—a monumental Supreme Court decision which rejected the concept of separate but equal in our public schools. Unfortunately, our equal rights, guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution, are still under attack today.
Right-wing elected officials in state legislatures and Congress continue to attack the voting rights of communities of color, low-income communities, and LGBTQ+ people. This is why we’re running our “Vote for Human Needs” campaign to combat voter suppression laws and ensure that everyone is able to make their voice heard in this critical presidential election.
Power our critical work to Get Out the “Human Needs Vote” this election with a donation to the Coalition on Human Needs today.
Together we’re working to combat voter suppression and ensure everyone is able to make their voice heard in 2024 and beyond.

John,
Tomorrow marks the 70th anniversary of the monumental Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education. While that important decision changed the United States as we know it, we are also cognizant of the reality we’re facing and how much of Brown’s promise is still unfulfilled.
Democracy works best when everyone has a voice. Dr. Martin Luther King's "Give Us the Ballot" speech on the 3rd Brown anniversary linked the pursuit for equality to our power at the ballot.[1] We must fight for voting rights to protect democracy.
Our voting rights are under relentless attack and the impact is far from equal. Voter suppression laws disproportionately target communities of color and low-income communities, effectively creating a two-tiered system of citizenship.
That’s why we have launched our “Vote for Human Needs” campaign to reach infrequent voters in these communities and make sure everyone is able to make their voice heard.
Donate $5 today to power our voter outreach between now and Election Day and ensure everyone has the tools and information they need to cast their ballot for human needs.

Across the country, politicians are passing laws to send us back into a time pre-Brown; they’re restricting the teaching of Civil Rights history, changing school funding rules to worsen segregation, and doing everything in their power to restrict voting rights.
While the Brown decision was rooted in the Constitution via the Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment—which was passed after the Civil War to give citizenship to formerly enslaved African-Americans—anti-democratic forces are attacking that very same amendment in order to recreate separate and unequal.
We know that our democracy is only truly representative when everyone actively participates and has a say.
Your support powers our critical voter engagement efforts. Donate $5 today so we can ensure that every voice is heard this November.
