The news comes in wake of Noem admitting to shooting her puppy.
The NRA is on its last legs, John. Faced with dwindling membership and growing legal issues, the once powerful organization has become a shell of its former self.
They’ve become so desperate to turn things around that even Donald Trump Jr. declined an offer to lead the gun group.
That's where Kristi Noem comes in.
The South Dakota governor has made a name for herself — in part by recent headlines coming from her new book including the admission of shooting her puppy Cricket and falsely claiming to have met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
If the NRA is seriously about to consider someone like Kristi Noem for its top job — again, someone who openly admitted shooting their dog, it's a clear sign that the organization is failing.
Meanwhile, gun violence continues to plague communities across the country. And the gun lobby’s continued influence in Washington has meant that we’ve had no substantial action in enacting common-sense gun legislation.
That’s why we’re doing everything we can between now and November to uplift and boost gun safety candidates running for office and continuing to push and advocate for Congress to do its job and to start protecting families and communities — not the gun lobby.
John, if you can — please pitch in $5 or what you can afford today to be split among these grassroots organziations pushing for an end to gun violence.
The following organizations are: The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Sandy Hook Promise, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Giffords, and March for Our Lives Action Fund
