Increasing Access to Child Care
|
For many parents, child care is a necessity in order to have and maintain a job. That's why Senate Republicans prioritized increasing access to affordable child care for Hoosier families.
Why it matters: Access to child care gives parents an opportunity to find better jobs and know their child is in a safe environment.
This year, I supported legislation to expand child care options in Indiana by helping more people become child care workers and cut red tape that drives up the cost of operating a child care facility.
As your state senator, I will continue working to find ways to support our Hoosier families.

Attending Ivy Tech Community College GraduationLast Friday, I was once again given the opportunity to hand out diplomas to the recent graduates of Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne and Warsaw during their 2024 graduation ceremony. It's always special celebrating students and their educational achievements, especially those who are first-generation college graduates. I am also glad to see the growing number of high school students receiving associate's degrees and technical certificates before they even graduate high school.Thank you to Chancellor Dr. Kim Barnett-Johnson and the faculty and staff for having me, and congratulations to the recent graduates!

National Police Week
This week is National Police Week, a time to show appreciation for those who serve and those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
May we take this time to honor law enforcement officers for their bravery, sacrifice and dedication to keeping Hoosiers safe, and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. These brave men and women should be celebrated everyday, but let us take this week specifically to sincerely thank them for all that they do.
