Hello and welcome to my weekly update!
Amidst more Tory chaos this week, Sir Keir Starmer has set out the six first steps a new Labour Government would take if elected.
Practical, fully costed, and deliverable solutions to create a brighter future for people in Gorton & Denton, Burnage, Levenshulme and Longsight, and across the whole UK.
We are ready to lead.

HIGHLIGHTS
A pleasure to attend Alzheimer's Society conference this week, and speak to their staff, and people from across the social care sector, about the need to make Dementia a priority.
There are some fantastic new tools available, from VR headsets, to cognitive books, that have a real impact on the quality of life for those living with Dementia.
I spoke about Labour's vision for a National Care Service, and the pressing need to address the diagnosis gap that is preventing people from accessing crucial care and support.
I even caught up with the legendary Angela Rippon, but the less said about my dancing the better!
Great to join the Alzheimer's Society event in Parliament to mark #DementiaActionWeek, and reiterate the commitment I made at Alzheimer's Society conference to end the shocking diagnosis gap.
The Duke of Edinburgh, President of Argentina, and High Sparrow promised to hold me to it, so there's no going back!
Great to meet Kate Lee, Alzheimer's Society CEO, and other leaders from across the sector at The Geller Commission’s event in Parliament to launch #DementiaActionWeek.
Whether on diagnosis, research, or access to care, there’s some real challenges, but ones the next Labour government will tackle head on.
The Trussell Trust data shows a 10% increase in usage at their foodbanks in Denton & Reddish this year and a 40% increase over the last five years, having handed out 6357 emergency food parcels in the last 12 months.
Foodbanks do a great job, but they shouldn't have to exist.
The sooner we get a Labour government that can turn the tide on these shameful stats, the better.
Great to meet with charities from across the carers sector, convened by Carers UK to discuss Labour’s plans for carers ahead of #CarersWeek.
Make no mistake, without carers, our social care system would collapse, and they will be central to Labour’s plans in government.
Reading doesn't just provide a real sense of joy to many people, it is a vital tool for learning.
A pleasure to speak with The Reading Agency about their Reading Well with Dementia campaign, to help people understand more about this cruel disease.

Great to round off #DementiaActionWeek with a debate in Westminster Hall led by my friend Debbie Abrahams.
Whether on diagnosis rates, support for unpaid carers, or workforce reform, the next Labour government will deliver a brighter future for people living with Dementia and their families.

The Chancellor has committed to abolishing National Insurance at a cost of £46bn.
It's time Ministers came clean about where that money will be cut from.

Labour has and always will be the party of women's equality, and the next Labour government will take up that mantle, and ensure women experiencing menopause are not locked out of the workplace.
Nothing but bluff and bluster from the Minister.

The Tories seemed to have given up on reforming Britain's railways, leaving communities like mine without any semblance of an adequate service.
If they can't deliver, then the next Labour government will.

The situation in Sudan is horrific, with clear evidence of ethnic cleansing by RSF forces.
We must play our part, working with international allies, to stop these barbaric scenes.
Has the Leader of the House had another re-think about her leadership ambitions?
If her colleagues won't indulge her, she's always welcome to #GinWithGwynne.
Andrew in the the media
Your favourite artist is playing a once-in-a-lifetime show. Your team are on the brink of winning the league. What’s more – tickets to see them live go on sale tomorrow morning.
Unfortunately for you, when you refresh the ticket site at 9:01am, you find that somehow every last ticket has sold out in under a minute.
Confused, you search online and find the very same tickets being resold for hundreds (or in many cases, thousands) of more.
This sort of exploitation has become all too common an experience, and an issue I am fiercely passionate about.
For far too long, ticket touts and scalpers have ruined the sports and culture market and unfairly restricted access to live events.
While reselling football tickets for profit has been illegal since 1994, there is no similar regulation for other sporting or cultural events.
In fact, the current Minister, Kevin Hollinrake, suggested that websites allowing limitless prices to be charged “may still provide a service of value to some consumers”.
In 2016, one ticket for Adele at the O2 arena in London was listed on GetMeIn for £24,840 – that’s 290 times the face value of the ticket.
There are laws against the use of bots or multiple identities to harvest tickets and resell at profit, but the government have been woefully incompetent at enforcing them.
Only two cases and six prosecutions have been made, allowing the vast majority of ticket touts and lawbreakers to walk free.
My friend and colleague Sharon Hodgson MP has been leading the charge in this area for many years, and it’s about time the government stood up and took notice.
While the Tories are content to let ticket touts run rampant and steal from supporters and artists alike, Labour has pledged to fight for the rights of the public and tackle the problem head on.
The next Labour government will cap the resale prices of tickets and bring much needed regulation to the resale market.
We will restrict the number of tickets any individual seller can list and close loopholes to shut down ticket touts.
We recognise that existing laws to protect consumers are useless if they are not properly enforced, and so will give the Competition and Markets Authority (an independent regulatory board) the powers it needs to crack down on law breakers.
This Tory government has been absolutely spineless in protecting the rights of artists and consumers.
Labour stands ready to end the ruthless and exploitative practise of ticket touting for good.
