More people than ever today are meeting their future partner on dating apps. Dating apps are a great way to build connections and bring people together. But along the way, too many are also being victimized by scammers.

That’s why I introduced the bipartisan Online Dating Safety Act to crack down on these scammers and help keep people safe when using the platforms. Our bill would force dating apps to notify users when they’ve been contacted by someone known to be a scammer. It would be a major step to protect users and make online dating safer.

If you support this commonsense, bipartisan bill, will you add your name next to mine as a community cosponsor?

Dating is stressful enough without having to worry about being scammed out of money – or worse. This is a basic safety issue that we have the power to do something about — and it’s something I believe we should all be able to agree on.

If you believe my bill to make online dating safer deserves a vote, I hope you’ll add your name as a supporter.
