Candidate Update
In early May, Georgia’s Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) officially notified Supreme Court candidate John Barrow that he was out of compliance with Georgia law and Georgia’s Code of Judicial Conduct. Barrow made their confidential communication public.
Rather than complying with the JQC’s demand to bring his campaign in compliance with Georgia law, John Barrow filed suit in U.S. District Court claiming that the agency’s regulations limit his ability to share his personal opinions and that violates his First Amendment right to free speech.
Yesterday, that lawsuit was dismissed for lack of standing.
