The countdown is on for the 43rd annual Robin Hood Half Marathon, and with just under five months to go, more than 5,000 runners have already registered. This huge surge in participation means that this year may be the most well-attended event in its history! 

We recommend that you book your place early to avoid disappointment. You can expect a scenic route through Nottingham, incredible spectator support, and a finish line celebration at Victoria Embankment with a medal and other goodies.

This summer, the Westfield Health British Transplant Games are coming to Nottingham. The flagship event of charity Transplant Sport will be taking place at venues across the city.

The British Transplant Games is an inclusive event that aims to raise awareness of the life-saving benefits of organ donation and encourages transplant recipients to stay active post-transplant. Athletes ranging from the ages of two to 80, from over 60 hospital teams across the UK, will represent their transplant unit with the support of friends, family, and volunteers at 24 sporting events.

The University of Nottingham

Nottingham welcomes the tenth Touch Rugby World Cup this July. Around 4,000 players, referees, coaches, and support staff will make up the 189 teams representing 39 nations at the University of Nottingham's Highfields and Riverside Sports Complexes.

Nottingham is England's leading city when it comes to Touch Rugby, and Nottingham Touch Club will be well represented within the 13 England teams competing. Entry is free to the events throughout the week, and all are welcome.

Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and help raise money for research into all 200 types of cancer. Taking place at Victoria Embankment, participants can walk, jog, or run the 5k or 10k routes.

Since it began in 1994, as a women-only event, Race for Life has grown into a series of hundreds of events across the country with around 10 million people taking part, raising more than £920 million to help fund cutting-edge research into cancer. In 2019, for the first time, Race for Life opened its doors to men to participate too.

Trent Rocket's home campaign begins with a clash against local rivals Birmingham Phoenix (Wednesday 31 July), before they host a Saturday afternoon showdown with Welsh Fire (Saturday 3 August), and visits from London Spirit (Wednesday 7 August) and Oval Invincibles (Wednesday 14 August).

Thanks to The Hundred's ongoing partnership with BBC Music Introducing, spectators at Trent Bridge will also be treated to memorable music performances.
