Aloha Fellow Republicans,
In spite of social distancing requirements and stay at home orders, the Hawaii Republican Party and Hawaii Trump Victory campaign have continued to maintain the momentum achieved during the February Precinct Elections. Overflowing slightly into March to complete all Districts in Honolulu County, for the first time in recent history, every District has a Chairperson in charge elected by their peers. Many thanks to volunteer callers who were instrumental in this achievement!
For this update, we have three intertwined issues to highlight; phone callers, Precinct Presidents and routine virtual campaign meetings:
- Precinct Presidents are essential for the Party to function properly - yet many positions are unfilled. Remember the last update when we talked about our grass roots structure was essential for success? To build upon the previous months' momentum, we now need all District Chairs to recruit and fill their remaining Precinct President positions and open delegate positions by April 30th. Precinct Presidents are the very roots that allow the grass to grow.
- "Phone Callers" are our number one asset! Volunteers that serve as phone callers for the Party and the Campaign (all one team) are our MVPs - Most Valuable Players. If you are a phone caller already - mahalo nui loa; if you want to become one please contact campaign volunteer coordinator Anna Hudson. If you want to count during this election season, if you want to REALLY contribute and show your support for President Trump then you really need to step up and become a phone caller. There is no other more important job on the campaign.
- Battle rhythm of Virtual Meetings. We have transitioned to virtually meetings and many of you have not caught up. Campaign Leaders and key volunteers meet on-line every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 4:00 pm. "Phone Callers" because you are so valuable have your own meeting on the 1st and 3rd Saturday at 4:00 pm. Meeting attendees - if you cannot figure out the app or web link, every invite also has a phone number for dialing in. Please call in at least 5 minutes early to test your connectivity.
We also want to send a shout out to the many new candidates coming forward to run for office in 2020. Congratulations and mahalo for having the courage and desire to run for public office. Lori Ford and Shirlene Ostrov have made significant progress in recruiting candidates and have campaign training underway. If you are interested or know someone to recruit; it is not too late to attend this great training!
